We Said Goodbye to Charleston

Well, it’s been a while.  I think my last update was the final Carter Daily picture on his birthday in early April.  For the approximately three people that read these posts, I’m sorry I’ve been a terrible blogger!  I’m going to make an effort to do a better job of documenting the day to day.

So, what’s new with us…we moved!  Phillip finished his training in Charleston, so we packed up and headed back to Alabama for his new job which he starts in August.  It was really difficult (at least for me) to say goodbye to the wonderful city we’d called our home for three years.  We will miss our Charleston life, our good friends, Carter’s excellent school, and maybe most of all, our house.  As long-time readers know, we built our home, so we had a particular attachment to it.  Add to that the fact that we brought our puppy and our baby home here, and we had some serious emotional ties to our blue house on Cloudbreak Court.

Here we are on Carter’s and Watson’s last day in the house (I’m fighting back tears):

And here we are just after we locked the door for the last time (still fighting back tears):

But, time moves on and so did we.  We’ll always have a special place in our hearts for this home and this city, and the fond memories we made there.
